Jobber Payments is one of the most convenient features that Jobber users enjoy. It comes with every plan but it varies in pricing and features. It allows you to send invoices to a client remotely or in person and they can pay quickly and easily. Rest assured you can take payments via other methods and keep everything straight in Jobber (SIGN UP HERE) but the Jobber Payments platform is pretty robust and convenient for almost all use cases.

For a quick tutorial on how to navigate to the Jobber settings to see what’s available, here you go.

  1. Click on the Cog Wheel icon in the top right corner of the screen when you’re in the main Jobber dashboard.
  2. Select Settings
  3. In the new menu that shows up on the left, Select “Jobber Payments”

What are the transaction fees for Jobber Payments?

If you are doing a transaction online (for example, when you send an invoice to a client via email or text) the transaction fee varies by what plan you’re on.

3.1% + 30 cents per transaction for the Grow Plans

2.9% + 30 cents per transaction for the Connect Plan

2.7% + 30 cents per transaction for the Core Plan

If I’m being honest, varied pricing like this is a bit petty in my opinion but I get that they’re trying to motivate business owners to pick the higher tier option that gets them more in annual recurring revenue.

If you are using the card reader that you can purchase through Jobber for $59.99 then the transactions vary.

2.5% + 30c per transaction on Grow plans

2.7% + 30c per transaction on Connect plans

2.9% + 30c per transaction on Core plans

How does Jobber payments compare to other credit card processors?

Stripe – 2.9% + 30¢ per card transaction

Paypal – invoicing is 3.49% plus a fixed fee while debit and credit card payments are 2.99% plus a fixed fee

Square – 2.9% + 30 cents per card transaction for invoices, 3.5% + 15 cents if using their stored card on file feature

Generally, Jobber Payments is just as competitive as any other major credit card processor plus it has the convenience of being built in. They also don’t charge you extra like Square for letting someone do automatic payments on stored credit cards. It should be noted, all of these companies have a bulk rate if you’re over $5M in revenue but this at least give you an idea to know that Jobber Payments is reasonable and competitive.

Does Jobber Payment allow the customer to leave a tip?

Yes, they just added this feature recently. Given the competitive nature of the service industry right now, it’s nice that people can show extra love to your employees for doing a good job.

When this option is added in the settings pane of Jobber, the customer sees a simple and subtle prompt on their invoice that gives them the option to leave it a tip.

Can customers paying via Jobber invoices use any credit card?

Yes, customers can use any major credit card to pay their Jobber invoices.

Does Jobber Payments accept payments through ACH bank payments?

Yes, this is definitely an option on all Jobber plans. ACH bank payments come with a 1% transaction fee.

You can actually make this the only way they pay if you’d like but we wouldn’t recommend it. You want to get money as fast and convenient as possible. You want the customer to have a great experience even if that means losing 2% through credit card fees. If you’re worried about that 2% loss, raise your prices by 2%.

Can I have someone pay a deposit on an invoice before starting a job?

Absolutely. We get that there are costs to starting a job sometimes and you need to require a deposit. This option is easily added via the settings pane.

Does the client get a receipt for their transaction when they pay through Jobber Payments?

Yes, this is a selectable item in the settings that we highly recommend using. Not only does it keep you in their inbox, but now they don’t really need to ask for it. Its convenient for all parties and is a nice feature of the invoicing and payments portion of the Jobber software.

Does Jobber Payments sync with Quickbooks?

Yes, any Jobber payments or invoice that have been sent out sync with Quickbooks.
